Commission Process

Initial Inquiry & Quote

To provide an accurate quote, I only need two pieces of information:

  • Desired size of the artwork

  • Your ideal timeline

Once I have these details, I’ll share pricing and availability.

To officially reserve your commission and secure your place in my schedule, a 50% deposit is required.
Once the deposit is received, I’ll begin gathering inspiration materials and preparing your sketch.

Inspiration & Reference Materials

To help me understand your vision, I ask that you send:

  • Three images of my past work that you feel align with what you’re looking for.
These are used for style and mood—while I can create a similar scene, I do not replicate previous paintings or work from other artists’ designs.

  • Optional: A photo of the space where the artwork will hang. This can help with scale, mood, and the overall feel of the piece in your home, but it’s not required.

  • Optional: If you’d like to include personal items (such as meaningful objects or your own tablescape), feel free to share those images as well.

A Note on Color Direction

I’m happy to take a bit of guidance—such as colors you especially love or want to avoid, or a general palette you prefer.
However, overly specific color restrictions can limit the flow of the painting process, so I work best with some creative flexibility.

Sketch Approval

Before painting begins, I’ll send you a preliminary sketch so you can confirm the overall composition.

When the painting is about two-thirds complete, I’ll send a progress photo.
This step ensures everything is moving in the right direction. Some people prefer to skip this since unfinished work can be harder to interpret—totally up to you!

Progress Check-In

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your commission and begin work.
The remaining balance is due upon delivery or pickup of the finished piece. Shipping is billed separately.
